Skip's Big Jump

Story Preview

Skip the grasshopper loved to jump! She bounced on soft leaves and hopped over tiny pebbles.

Every morning, she practiced her jumps. "Boing! Boing!" Her friends cheered and clapped.

One sunny day, Skip felt extra bouncy. Her legs tingled with energy. "Watch this!" she called.

She crouched down low and... WHOOOOSH! Up, up, up she soared into the bright blue sky!

The wind tickled her wings. Below, the garden looked so tiny! "Wheeeee!" Skip giggled.

Down, down, down she tumbled through the air. But wait... where were her friends?

Skip landed on something soft and purple. Strange flowers towered around her like trees!

"Hello?" she called. Her voice sounded small. Nothing looked familiar in this new place.

A butterfly fluttered by. "Are you lost, little one?" she asked with kind eyes.

"I jumped too high," Skip explained. The butterfly smiled. "Let's ask the wise snail!"

The snail pointed his antenna up. "Your garden is just over that flower wall!"

Skip's heart felt light again! She thanked her new friends with happy little hops.

With three strong jumps - boing, boing, BOING - she bounced right over the tall flowers!

"Skip! Skip!" Her friends rushed over. They hugged her tight and listened to her adventure.

That night, Skip snuggled in her cozy leaf bed. Tomorrow she'd jump high again - but maybe not quite so high!
