In a cozy forest clearing, little Sprig woke up in his leafy bed. He stretched his fuzzy green arms and wiggled his webbed toes.
"What a nice normal morning!" Sprig yawned. He stomped outside to find some breakfast berries.
BOING! A rabbit hopped past Sprig's nose! "Ooh!" gasped Sprig. "I want to hop like that!"
Sprig crouched down low and... SPROIIING! He bounced so high, he got stuck in a tree! "Help!" he squeaked.
The branches tickled his belly. "Hee hee!" Sprig giggled and wiggled until... CRASH! Down he tumbled!
He landed—SPLAT!—right in a mud puddle! Now he was muddy AND hungry. "Being a rabbit is hard," Sprig sighed.
A bird flew by singing, "Tweet tweet!" Sprig's eyes went wide. "I'll be a bird instead!"
He climbed up high and flapped his arms. "TWEET TWEET!" he yelled. But instead of flying... WHOOOOSH!
Sprig zoomed down like a green rocket! He bounced off mushrooms—boing, boing, BOING! Birds definitely don't do that!
Then a frog hopped by. "Ribbit!" it croaked. "Perfect!" Sprig squeaked. "I already have webbed toes!"
Sprig puffed up his cheeks and... "RIBBBBBIT!" The sound was SO loud, all the leaves shook off the trees!
WHOMP! The leaves buried him completely! Only his little green nose poked out. "Mmmph!" said the leaf pile.
The rabbit, bird, and frog all came to help. Together they dug Sprig out. "Thank you!" he squeaked happily.
"We like you just as Sprig!" said Rabbit. "Your stomping and squeaking are special!" added Bird. Frog nodded and smiled.
So Sprig stomped and squeaked with joy! His new friends laughed and joined in. What a wonderfully silly day!
