Ember the fox loved her morning routine. She stretched on her favorite rock and waited for the sun. But today, something was different.

The sky stayed dark. No golden light appeared. "Where could the sun be?" Ember wondered, her whiskers twitching with worry.

Birds chirped confused songs in the darkness. Flowers stayed closed tight. Even the morning dew felt strange and cold.

Ember sniffed the air carefully. No smoke. No clouds. She found tiny silver scales on the ground. "What made these?" she asked herself.

More clues appeared near the pond. Strange round shadows danced on the water. They moved in perfect circles, over and over again.

"These shadows are new," Ember thought. She collected a scale in her paw. It felt cool and smooth, like a river stone.

"Maybe a giant bird is sitting on the sun!" Ember guessed. She had seen big eagles before. This could be an enormous one!

She climbed the tallest tree to look. No giant bird anywhere. The sky was empty except for twinkling stars in daytime.

"If a bird is hiding the sun, where are its feathers?" Ember puzzled. She only found more silver scales scattered about.

Suddenly, Ember heard humming from the meadow. "Someone else is awake!" She hurried toward the sound, hopeful for answers.

It was Oliver the owl, wide awake in daytime! "Isn't this darkness wonderful?" he hooted. "I can finally see everything clearly!"

"But where's the sun?" Ember asked. Oliver just shrugged. "Who needs it? This is perfect owl weather!" That wasn't helpful at all.

Ember noticed something new. The silver scales made a trail. They led up the hill toward the old oak tree. Her heart beat faster.

At the oak tree, she gasped. A shimmering silver tail hung from a branch! It swayed gently, dropping more scales below.

"Hello up there!" Ember called bravely. A friendly dragon face peered down. "Oh! I didn't mean to cause trouble," she said softly.

"I'm Luna," the dragon explained. "I was so tired from flying. I curled up in the sky to rest. I didn't know I was blocking anything!"

Ember understood now. Luna's silver body had covered the sun! "Change can be scary," Ember said, "but you brought something magical instead."

Luna carefully moved aside. Golden sunlight poured down again. "Visit anytime!" Ember called. "You made the morning special!"

From then on, Ember looked forward to changes. Sometimes Luna visited, bringing silver morning shadows. Different could be wonderful too!
