Story Preview
The market buzzed and smelled of spice. Sophie stepped inside — clop, clop, clop! Lena grabbed Sophie's leg. “I need something REALLY tall,” she whispered.
Really tall! Sophie looked WAY up high. The tall things must be up there! Sophie stretched her long neck — Whoooosh — toward the very top shelf.
Sophie spotted tall honey jars. She nudged one. Then two. Then three. Plop, plop, PLOP — a wobbly tower! “Perfect!” said Sophie.
But wait — a tall rolled rug! Sophie stretched even higher. Boing! It bopped her right on the nose. Sophie staggered. The jars wobbled and giggled.
Then — there was Lena. Lena held one slim pink candle. It came from the very bottom shelf. Both of them froze. “Oh,” said Sophie.
Lena set the candle on top of the jar tower. CLICK — it sat there perfectly! Sophie's eyes went wide. “Oh!” they both said.
Sophie and Lena wrapped the tower together. Sophie wiggled her tall neck and giggled. “We found the tallest gift,” she said. And they really, truly had.
